TRA 2024 Outdoor Demonstrations

As part of the TRA 2024 programme, we are delighted to announce that we have some interesting outdoor demonstrations that will take place throughout the week.

Gas Networks Ireland

BioCNG grab-truck

Gas Networks Ireland’s commissioned development of its bioCNG Scania L340 6×4 rigid grab truck, to help decarbonise its heavy vehicle works fleet. The European-first vehicle is fuelled with biomethane and therefore generates a CO2 emissions reduction of up to 90% compared to its diesel counterparts. It is a strong example of how Ireland can decarbonise sections of the transport sector for which electric vehicles are not a viable option.

The outdoor arena will consist of 6 vehicles parked in the area, there will also be a couple of e-trikes that people can test drive in a circuit in the centre.

TricyLift developed by FLEX: an urban e-cargo trike.

The TricyLift can easily lift and carry up to 200kg thanks to its patented lift&go lever mechanism. It is the ideal agile and low maintenance vehicle, allowing efficient delivery of all types of goods in city centres. It’s the first bike with a seat and integrated lifting mechanism, designed specifically for urban logistics. When not in use, the TricyLift can be divided into two parts for a compact storage.
